Introducing Shinnoki by Decospan

Every now and then, a new product lands on our desk that everyone gets excited about- recently it has been the newest Shinnoki range by Decospan. Shinnoki is a celebration of wood and the natural world; a collection of 18 pre-finished real veneered boards in contemporary, classic tones, that will elevate your project to the next level.

A joy to work with

One of the struggles of working with veneered products can be the variation of appearance of veneers from one board to another. Off the shelf products don’t always have the same consistency sheet to sheet you might expect from a specially veneered product.

With the Shinnoki range, you can breathe a sigh of relief. The boards are manufactured using ‘mixmatch technology’ which means that they can create harmonious surfaces from a selection of veneers from different trees and varying slicing techniques, without compromising on quality. After careful selection, they seamlessly joint the veneer bundles, resulting in a uniquely curated sheet.

The finishing touch

No attention to detail has been spared with this collection. The boards are fully finished which means you get a consistent veneer solution for any type of project. Deep brushing enhances the natural texture of the grain, and then the veneers are stained with a water-based product. After this, they start a six-layer UV- lacquering process that helps protect against micro scratches and water damage and also gives a tactile, super-matt finish. A protective film is then applied, shielding the boards against scratches and damage.

The whole package

Matching edge banding means that you can have a fully finished panel from a ready pressed, finished board. Laminates are also available to match all boards (laminate prices available upon request) 
Boards are available in 19mm thickness and board size is 2790 x 1240.

A: Yes, real veneer edging that has been prefinished to match the board is available. 

Q: Can I use this material as a worktop?

A: Decospan suggest you can use Shinnoki boards for horizontal use, but do not recommend horizontal use in kitchens or bathrooms.
